The Year of the Priest June 19, 2009 — June 19, 2010 As declared by Pope Benedict XVI, This year will be a time to encourage "spiritual perfection" among priests, as well as a time to support and thank them for their service to the Church, the Body of Christ. A Prayer for Our Priests Loving God, you called me to the priesthood. Faithful God, you sustain me in my vocation. Help me to live a priestly life,
throughout this year and all my days. May your people find the presence of Christ in my steadfast witness to the Gospel as I serve them and guide them.
