OCIA is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life and potentially become full members of the Roman Catholic Church. Each Fall, St. Oscar Romero Parish begins a Period of Inquiry. During this period, teaching is given to people who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith.
These sessions cover basic information about the faith and fundamentally should communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no obligation involved in attending these meetings, they are intended to help a person decide whether they want to continue learning about the faith.
Attendees at this stage are known as Inquirers. If you have been pondering becoming Catholic or are Catholic, but have not received all of your Sacraments and would like to, please email Deacon Tony Mobley at [email protected] for more information or to register for the upcoming sessions.
OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation) classes will begin in September 2022. If you want to enter or just learn more about the Catholic faith, you are welcome to attend. If you have any questions about the class or would be interested in becoming part of the OCIA Team, please contact Deacon Tony.
